I had to spend my first five days on my own here. But we kept ourselves busy.
Thursday morning I went to my friend Pernille's house and we celebrated the 35th birthday of Lene, a Danish woman who has just arrived. I've also joined a book club that I go to on Thursday afternoon. We're about 10 women of different nationalities meeting up for a couple of hours in different bars or restaurants. In the evening I had drinks in the MD's flat for half and hour where I met the Statoil drilling team. Apart for all my plans, I also had to sort out the three children, pick up and bring to various schools, so there wasn't much time to miss Jeremy.
I took Mathilde to playgroup in the morning on Friday. After I picked up the boys from school, we went over to Pernilles house where the boys have swimming practise every Friday. The mothers get together to celebrate that another week has passed.
Joy worked extra on the week-end. She looked after Mathilde in the morning on Saturday while I took the boys to their baseball matches and Erik's scouting meeting. At the scout meeting they painted the wooden cars they will use in the Pinewood Derby race next week-end. Both Erik and Daniel enjoyed putting on lots of glitter and gold stars on their cars.
Erik and Daniel went back to play with a schoolfriend of Erik's ,Omar, after that and I got to have some time alone with Mathilde. When they came back, we had a dip in the pool and Joy babysat that evening so I could show the drilling team Bottles (the Tex-Mex Restaurant).
On Sunday we were invited out for lunch at the yacht club by Sophie, a class mate of Erik's, and her parents. The club had a really nice playground and tables with a very good view of the harbour.
