Gordons Bay
We arrived at our hotel, Villa Via in Gordon's bay in the afternoon. The suite we were given was huge and because it was on the corner of the hotel by the harbour (circled), had a great view.

The following day was a real scorcher, so we decided just to spend the day by the pool. Inger-Lise forgot to put on sun tan lotion, so she suffered afterward. She was so badly burnt she actually got blisters on her stomach. We found that, surprisingly, the sun is much stronger in Cape Town than in Lagos. I think it is because the sky is often cloudy and the atmosphere often dusty in Lagos.

The next day it rained in the morning, so we were glad to have done 2-days worth of sunbathing the previous day. Inger-Lise went shopping in a nearby shopping centre, while the rest of us went to Monkey Town.

Erik and Daniel enjoyed seeing the monkeys, especially the chimps. They threw them bottles of orange juice at feeding time and it was interesting to see that they all shook their bottles before opening them. Just like humans, but after all we do share 99% of the same genes. There was also a petting farm and a playground beside Monkey Town and we spent the afternoon there.

Later in the afteroon, when the tide had gone out, my parents and I went down to the sea with the children to paddle in the rock pools. Inger-Lise had an anti-stress massage in the hotel!
