The weather was great on Sunday. Maybe the rainy season is finally over ??? 15 people took the Statoil boat to the beach this morning, which I think was a record. The boat is in very bad shape and instead of the normal 45 minutes out to the beach it took us nearly 2 long, hot hours... Hope Statoil will buy a new boat soon.

All that was soon forgotten at the beach. Anthony, one of the stewards came along and he sat about barbequing a lovely lunch. We also succumbed to the temptation of buying a few things from the beach sellers that call from the boundary with the beach. Jeremy bought Erik and Daniel a small bead tapestry each for their room.

We blew up the big paddling pool (the easy job) and placed it in the shade under the beach house. The village women fetched water from the sea and carried it across the beach to the pool (the hard job). The children cooled off in the pool, while the rest of us waded into the sea and played in the surf of the huge waves.
