We have had a busy few days now that "mormor" is here. We have tried to live as normal as possible, but I think that my mother as got a good sample of what life in Nigeria is like.

On Monday she came along with me to school when I brought Daniel in the morning and she got to meet both Erik's and Daniels teachers, and had a look around the school. Afterwards we did some shopping. She saw an African supermarked, not quite European standard, a nice African giftshop, and an electronic shop. The traffic was so bad that we didn't make it back for lunch, so we went to a little restaurant near the school instead since we had to pick the boys up at 1.30 anyway.

After homework, it was time for a dip in the pool. In the evening, we had a nice dinnerparty with all of Jeremy's collegues at a Japaneese Sushi restaurant. My mother went for the chicken though.

Mathilde had her little friend Malin and Nanny come to play on tuesday morning while
we went to the Scandinavian society monthly coffee. The hostess Anne Lykke had made such lovely food we stayed all morning. It was interesting to hear the women's different experiences.

In the afternoon Erik had svimming lessons after school for an hour and we stayed and watched. Daniel played with his friend Alexander in the playground. In the evening we had another statoil dinner. This time up in the penthouse flat. We were 18 people and The Norwegian ambassadore had come from Abudja to take part.

We went to Mathilde's playgroup on Wedensday morning. She likes it there, because there are cars to drive, a nice big playground and a lot of children from all over the world. They have a little snack and at the end they all sit and sing together. Mathildes favorite is "drunken sailor" or "sleeping rabbit".

After picking up the boys from school, we all went to Alexander og Malin's house where the children played inside since it rained heavily. We got to taste some Nigerian snacks, fried yam and plantain. We had a quiet night at home where Salako had made some lovely chicken.

Today I have taken my mom to the Lekki Market, which she thought was rather filty. We had lunch at Cactus, where some mothers from school were selling some lovely things. Much better than the market, so we both managed to spend some money.

My mom is enjoying spending time with the children. She doesn't even complain about the noise. They are getting stories every evening, and love having her play with them in the pool. We are looking forward to the next few days....
