World Cup Weekend
The Rugby World Cup started on Friday 7th September with France vs. Argentina. The following day, England their first game of the world cup - against USA. I'm looking forward to following the games, especially South Africa; I think the Springbox are a great team.
Saturday Soccer started up with Football trials for Erik and Daniel. Afterwards, we had a Cub Scout Leader Meeting. This year I have decided to be the leader for one of the three "Bear" (3-Grade) dens at the school. David Rainbolt, who was involved a lot in the Cub Scouts last year agreed to be my assistant.
After the football and scouts, we went to the GQ for lunch. Erik took his new best friend, Anders (10) with him. Anders is Danish (like Erik's last best friend, Fredrik). I managed to get back home for the second half of the rugby.
On Sunday, Erik and Daniel played Playstation, then I took Daniel and Mathilde to the Kingfisher club, while Erik did homework with Inger-Lise. We had lunch their and Daniel and Mathilde played in the little playground while I watched Wales vs. Canada on the flat screen TV in the new outdoor bar area.
In the afternoon, we went to, Carol and Malcomn's house (a South African very nice couple) to watch South Africa vs. W. Samoa followed by a Brai in the garden. I enjoyed the match, but Inger-Lise wasn't expecting all the women also to watch the match. She got teased when she was caught reading her book! The children all played together in the pool or around the compound, then ended up in front of Cartoon Network.
