The last Saturday of the month is Environmental day, where everyone has to stay in their compounds until 10am to clean. This meant that Daniel's soccer was delayed to 11am. He kicked up a fuss about going, but enjoyed it when he got there.

At noon, I led a Cub Scout Den meeting and then Erik went and played his football match. After that we went to a new Italian pizza restaurant, which was really good - proper Italian pizzas. Next, Inger-Lise then took Erik to his friend, Justin's birthday party, while the rest of us went back for a rest.

In the evening Inger-Lise and I went to Richard's birthday party, which was a poolside barbeque. They roasted a fillet of beef, which was cooked to perfection - nice and rare. The British consul was one of the guests, a Welshman (still reeling from the Rugby team's defeat at the hands of the Fijians) and he amused us with lots of stories about the lengths people go to get visas and his experiences in evacuating people from Sierra Leone (and then charging them $950 each - we all thought that would be covered by the taxpayer). It was a very nice evening and we left at around 1:30am.
