Friday 24th - Sunday 26th August - Birthday parties!

On Friday, Erik went to a party at Exxon straight from school while Inger-Lise went to her friend, Pernille's leaving party where she drank gallons of champagne! Meanwhile, I went with Joy, Daniel and Mathilde and picked up Erik from Exxon to take them to the Sam, Peter and Paula Grootelaar's son's birthday party at Chevron. They all had a great time on the bouncy castle and in the swimming pool.

On Saturday, I had a cub scout leader meeting in the morning, then Erik had a party at another Sam's house, this time on Ikoyi. Daniel gatecrashed with Inger-Lise! I came later with Mathilde after her sleep. Erik and Daniel were climbing all over me while I tried to make conversation with the various oil company managers whose sons were also invited to the party! Afterwards, we went round to Debbie and Rob's flat to watch Scotland vs. South Africa. The kids played upstairs, while we watched the match, drank and ate some smoked salmon sandwiches with cream cheese, dill and fresh lemon which we brought with us.

On Sunday, we had a break from birthday parties. We had lunch at the GQ and drank lots of Margueritas before rolling back to "Base"!
