Everyone except Gunnar and I left for Hidra on Thursday. On Saturday morning, I got a coach to Flekkefjord and joined them. As I arrived, Mathilde and Julia were playing in the treehouse I built with Erik - Mathilde kept disappearing and climbing up to the treehouse on her own. That afternoon, I took the boys on our favourite walk around the lakes. Though it wasn't terribly warm, we had a swim in the first lake. Erik wasn't very keen but in the end, nostalgia won over the chill factor and he joined Daniel and me in the water.
On Sunday, we had breakfast outside. Later, Rune and I took Erik and Daniel out in the boat. In the afternoon, Inger-Lise and I had a walk up at the German fortress. In the evening, I took the coach back to Stavanger. The others came back a day later as the weather took a turn for the worse.
On Wednesday, Daniel had a sleepover at Alexander's house. Originally, the plan was for Erik to go there, but he had a change of heart at the last minute. Daniel wasn't slow to take his place! The following day, I managed to get away from work early and go into town to shop and get a haircut. That evening Inger-Lise and I went to Bølgen & Moi, a nice restaurant in town (actually in the Oil Museum) to celebrate our 11th Wedding Anniversary. We had a very nice evening and Gunnar earned the bottle of whisky I gave him as payment for babysitting. Mathilde was being difficult and didn't want to go to bed, so she ended up watching part of Jurassic Park with the boys.
