Sunday 25th March
At 10am, we met the drilling team downstairs in the Lagoon View car park to go to the Statoil beach. We had all brought with us food and one of the stewards came with us to do the barbecuing. It was nice to be at the beach with a lot of other people, even if there weren't any other children for Erik, Daniel and Mathilde.

Gunn, Rune and the some of the drillers "helped" some fishermen bringing in their catch. They fish by pulling a net through the sea onto the beach. It looks a bit like they are having a tug-of-war.

Inger-Lise surprised us all by playing some volley ball with the drillers, while Mathilde spent most of her time in the paddling pool under the beach hut. Erik & Daniel had their life vests on and played in the surf with me, which was fun. We also made a big sand castle. Daniel and I caught little sand crabs on the beach and put them in special rooms that Daniel had made!

Erik came and joined in our game and we started to dig deeper holes and tunnels. Suddenly Erik exclamed as he was digging, "Look! There's a hole here!". Then "...there's something hard..." and he stuck in his hand.

"....Ouch!" He cried and a big crab shot out of the hole, got its bearings for a second and raced down into the sea. It's a long time since I have laughed so much. We all collapsed in a heap in the sand we were laughing so hard. Erik's finger has made a full recovery!

We had a nice meal in the afternoon and arrived back at about 5:30pm.
