Yesterday was Inger-Lise's birthday. In the morning she got her traditional breakfast in bed, complete with Norwegian chocolate brought over by Tor Christian's wife, Rita. Erik and Daniel insisted on carrying candles into the bedroom and we sang her Happy Birthday. We gave her two wooden statutes as a present.

In the afternoon she had lunch with her friends at a new café at Goodies on Ikoyi. They all brought her presents and Hilde, who couldn't make it, bought her a nice bouquet of flowers.

In the evening, we cracked open a bottle of champagne when I got back from work and I gave her the first two series of Star Trek Voyager on DVD - what Trekkies we are! Later, Joy put the children to bed and we went to an Italian restaurant called Il Sorriso, which we have wanted to go to for some time.
