Travel and Daniel's Birthday
Tomorrow, Tuesday 11th December, Erik, Mathilde and I will flew to Frankfurt to meet Daniel and Inger-Lise off the plane from Stavanger. Tonight, therefore, I am busy packing for the trip. Fortunately, Inger-Lise can bring our warm clothes with her from Norway and the rest we'll have to borrow or buy! The flight went fine and we all got some sleep.

Wednesday 12th December
While we were waiting at Frankfurt, we found out where the British European check in desk was for our flight on to Manchester and then the Isle of Man. Then, we went back to arrivals and waited for Inger-Lise and Daniel to appear. I had brought a "Happy Birthday" banner with me in my hand luggage and strung it up outside the gate where Daniel would arrive. It was quite a task to keep an eye on Mathilde and Erik while we waited, but Erik was very good. When Daniel came through the gate, with his arm in a sling, having had the operation in Norway, we all sang him Happy Birthday, which he liked. It was very nice to see him again.

We didn't have much time, so we went and checked in for our next flight and managed to get our bags checked in all the way through to the Island. We had lunch in Manchester and arrived in the Isle of Man at around 7pm. Grandma and Grandpa were waiting for us and the children all ran out to meet them, while we waited for the bags to come through. When we got back to Gordon, Daniel opened some presents and blew out the candles on the cake Grandma had got for him.

It has been a while since we on the island at this time of year and we were looking forward to spending 9 days there before travelling back, through Frankfurt to Stavanger.
