On Friday night we had our office Christmas Party. The tennis court was adapted for everyone to sit down outside and a buffet of Nigerian food was laid out around the pool. Most of the employees came in Nigerian dress - I borrowed one from Erik's Principle at AISL. But some of the Expats (including Inger-Lise) didn't feel like it. We invited my colleagues, Geir and Carl and their wives (living on the floor above us) for some champagne on the way down to the party which started at 6:30pm. The photo is taken from our kitchen window.

It was really nice to see the local employees with their spouses. An amazing number of small children were also brought along to the party and, after the party had got going, we went up and brought Mathilde down to dance with them. It was not unusual for people to have families of 4 children.

After the food, the MD made a couple of long-service awards, and we all cut the cake. The band (from Benin) were good: they mixed hits from the 70s and 80s with traditional West African music and it got me up dancing.
