For Halloween, we went to the Maersk compound on Gerrard Road where Lona, Michael, Anders, Mats and Karoline live. Inger-Lise went there earlier in the day to bring food that Salako had made and decorate the pool area; we had brought some decorations and a CD of spooky music with us from Norway. The children went there after school and had fun playing together in their Halloween costumes. I arrived after work.

When all the spouses had arrived back from work, we had barbecue. Then, when it started to get dark we did Trick-or-Treat around the compound with the children. The older children running ahead and the little ones trailing after, not sure what was happening.

After more running around (and eating sweets) in the dark we went home, but not before Mathilde got her photograph taken with the boy who was dressed as a wolf. She had just discovered the story of "The Three Little Pigs" and it was really her favourite story. We had also showed her the Silly Symphonies cartoon on YouTube. So when she saw "The Big Bad Wolf" in real life, she was both fascinated and a bit scared.

Halloween is one of the nicer things you can do with children on a compound and Inger-Lise did really well to get us invited and help organise this.
