Daniel and I left on Sunday 21st October for the KLM overnight flight to Stavanger via Amsterdam. We decided to give Daniel a treat - a week back in Norway to stay with Mormor and play with his Norwegian friends. At the airport, I upgraded Daniel to business class so we could get a better night's sleep.

While we were there, I was busy with work and the long list of "things to do when I am back in Norway". Daniel had a lovely time playing with his friends: Jakob, Alexander, Solveig, Martin.

In the middle of the week I went by coach with my geologist colleagues to Songdalstrand (I am in the exploration department after all...). We stayed the night at the Sogndalstrand "Cultur Hotel". Sogndalstrand is a beautiful village. The hotel rooms are in renovated houses overhanging the deep, fast flowing river, running into the sea and giving the town a natural harbour.

For a team excursion we visited an ilmenite mine. The geologists got more out of it than I did, but it was an impressive sight nevertheless. My presentation went OK, despite the lack of photos! No photos in this blog either for the same reason...

Daniel and I returned on Sunday 28th October. It was nice to have Daniel to myself for the day and hopefully Daniel enjoyed the extra attention, away from the competition from Erik and Mathilde!
